It's easy to blame these issues on the workers. The management of that company has refused to listen to common sense for years. In 2005, GM lost a billion dollars because they would not listen to analysts and focus on fuel efficiency instead of trucks and SUV's. The workers don't design the vehicles. Just like every other industry these days, it was the CEO's that brought both GM and Ford down because of an ignorant, "we know it all" approach to the market. Just in time for the market to collapse too. It wasn't the auto unions that are responsible for this, it was instead the leadership of the company. I'll bet the CEO's took care of their golden parachutes in case the company collapses. They won't be on any unemployment lines.
